Job Description:
The 2-year Global Graduate development program is designed to
develop critical skills by providing participants an opportunity to
experience a range of placement assignments as they establish broad
experience within Engineering. These carefully structured
experiences will expose participants to a view of the "big picture"
and capabilities in areas important to engineering. Rotations could
include experiences in one Iberdrola location in Spain, Scotland,
Brazil or Mexico and 2 rotations in the U.S. (Orange, CT,
Rochester/Binghamton, NY and Augusta/Portland, ME). For each
assignment, participants will be required to meet specific outcomes
and execute project plans. Along with rotations, members also are
given opportunities to work on Process Improvement projects that
relate to their rotations. Job Responsibilities: This role will be
part of the Big Data and Analytics team in the Digital Solutions
area. It will work closely with business and other IT professionals
to manage, develop, and maintain the enterprise data analytics
platform. One of the key aspects of this role is the ability to
identify and understand business data requirements, design and
build data extractions, transformations and data loading processes
to and from various technical platforms to ensure business value is
delivered in the most efficient way. Understand Business
requirements for the Data Analytics projects and work with the
technical team to build the solution design. Serve as liaison
between the business users and the big data technical team. Work
with a team of data engineers and visualization experts within the
organization and oversee vendor teams to implement advanced
analytics solution. Collaborate with various teams to design a data
analytic solution and data model that meets the needs of the
business. Analyze the existing data repositories and business
processes to derive data profiles and identify data sources.
Identify, design and maintain data models as required. Assist with
the definition of use cases and business use of Big Data Platforms
such as Hadoop and other NoSQL platforms describing the advantages
and disadvantages of options available Assist in the design of data
acquisition, cleansing, and transformation into target data
structures from potentially multiple sources: SQL and non SQL
databases, structured and non-structured files, Hadoop. Design and
develop programs that will run in Big Data infrastructures: Massive
data processing (as smart meter data processing) Operationalize
analytic models to run efficiently (analytics on Hadoop) Data
Provisioning (including ETL/ET) Work with the data scientists to
understand the algorithms outcomes and the impact on the business
process and data solutions for the use case. Keep abreast with the
latest trends in technology and present to the management the usage
of new Big Data Technologies and how to leverage them to support
business outcomes. Maintain production and development big data
platforms along with the analytics applications and lead the team
to resolve issues. Requirements: Education & Experience: BA/BS data
analytics/computer science/information or similar degree is
required. Graduate: 0-2 Years Skills & Abilities: SQL skills,
ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and
subqueries Understanding of using analytical concepts and
statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing
tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and
developing actionable recommendations for business units. Knowledge
of data collection and analysis tools and distributed systems.
Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive,
Sqoop, Kafka, NiFi, HBase, Zeppelin, Oozie and other tools of big
data ecosystem is desired. Knowledge of BI tools (such as SAP
Business Objects, MicroStrategy) Programming knowledge of languages
like Java, Python, Scala, Spark, SQL, Data frames API etc. Other
Abilities: Good oral and written communication skills. Problem
solving and analytical skills. Ability to multitask. Interpersonal
and Communication Skills Analytical. Willingness to travel. Must be
a team player to work, promote and consolidate efficient team
