Job Description Chair of Psychiatry - Behavioral HealthLocation: Newton, NJ - New York 55m, Philadelphia 100mFacility Type: Community HospitalPosition Type: Full-Time, permanent positionPosition Highlights: Lead a comprehensive Behavioral Health Department at a respected regional community hospital 60% clinical / 40% administrative role Oversee a range of psychiatric services, from inpatient to outpatient and community-based programs Collaborate with hospital and system leadership on strategic planning, quality improvement, and program growthClinical Programs Oversight: 16-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Outpatient services including Injection Clinic and MAT (Medication for Addiction Treatment) Residential behavioral health programs Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison Services Psychiatric Emergency ServicesKey Responsibilities: Provide leadership, direction, and oversight of all behavioral health programs Model and promote clinical excellence, quality care, and best practices Participate in recruitment, retention, mentoring, and performance evaluations Ensure compliance with hospital and medical staff bylaws Engage in quality improvement initiatives and strategic planning Foster a collaborative and educational environment for staff and trainees Serve as liaison between administration and medical staff Promote and maintain community partnerships and outreachQualifications: MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry Active or eligible for New Jersey medical license Minimum 5-6 years of clinical experience in psychiatry At least 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience (inpatient setting preferred) Strong administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skillsCompensation & Benefits: Competitive base salary: $350,000 $450,000 (excluding quality/productivity incentives) Comprehensive benefits package Opportunities for professional development and continuing educationWhy Join Medical Center: Be part of a mission-driven health system serving Sussex, Warren, and Pike Counties Lead a passionate behavioral health team in a supportive and collaborative setting Contribute to impactful community-based mental health care* Live and work in a scenic, family-friendly region of Northern New Jersey
