Role We are looking for a dedicated Prior Authorization
Representative to join a growing healthtechnologyenabled care
organization. This fully remote, 6month contract role provides an
opportunity for permanent employment for top-performing candidates.
The ideal candidate will have handson experience navigating both
commercial and government insurance requirements, be highly
detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills - all with
the goal of ensuring timely patient access to care and proper
authorization workflows. Key Responsibilities Review physician
orders and clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy, and
adherence to payer requirements. Submit prior authorization
requests for specialty physician services, including diagnostic
procedures, outpatient services, and surgeries. Communicate
directly with insurance carriers to obtain approvals, address
coverage questions, and resolve denials. Track and follow up on
pending authorizations to avoid delays in scheduling or delivering
patient care. Log and document all authorization activities
meticulously, ensuring compliance with payer and regulatory
standards (e.g., HIPAA). Collaborate cross-functionally with
scheduling, billing, registration, and clinical teams to streamline
patient access and support seamless care delivery. Qualifications
Prior experience in prior authorizations, medical insurance
verification, or patient access in a specialty or multi-specialty
practice. Familiarity with both commercial and government payer
processes and requirements. Experience using an EMR/EHR system
preferred (while the ideal system may vary, adaptability to learn
new systems is essential). Strong attention to detail, excellent
organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks
and workflows simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills for interacting with payers, patients, and
clinical teams. Ability to work independently in a remote
environment, while maintaining professionalism, responsiveness, and
collaboration with team members. Schedule & Equipment Preferred
core hours: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM EST (flexibility available
post-training and ramp up). Fully remote position; required
equipment (laptop, secure access) provided by employer. Candidate
must agree to equipment deposit policy if applicable ($50 taken out
of the 1st 10 paychecks up to $500 total; Fully refundable upon end
of contract or transition to full-time). Compensation & Benefits
Hourly rate: $23-$26 per hour, depending on experience and
qualifications. Weekly payroll through the staffing partner during
contract period. 6month contract (with strong potential for
