Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Radiology Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 01/26/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity Job Summary The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This position performs essential job functions to ensure accurate and safe imaging for patients. Essential Responsibilities Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing necessary immobilization devices, and selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs. Operate equipment as required for specific procedures. Restrict radiation beams using cone and collimating devices to ensure minimal exposure to unaffected areas of the patient. Conduct portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. Follow operational procedures to identify patient films with their names and x-ray numbers, accurately marking films to indicate the side of the patient taken. Develop exposed x-ray films using available processing methods. Complete patient requisitions with technologist initials, date, number, and size of film. Maintain an orderly x-ray room as directed by the department head. Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians in administering these mixtures to patients. Perform administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instruction, film filing, record maintenance, and reception of patients, as needed. Provide assistance to patients as required, aiding in mobility and positioning on x-ray tables. Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and maintain a standing position for a minimum of 6 hours per day. Identify and address the specific needs of the patient population served, modifying and delivering care based on age, culture, language, and physical abilities. This includes effective communication with patients, parents, and caregivers at an appropriate developmental or educational level. Adhere to the standards outlined in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. Required Skills & Experience N/A Preferred Skills & Experience N/A Education Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology. Completion of clinical and ARRT requirements. Preferred Education: N/A Certifications & Licensure Required Certifications: Must possess a New Jersey State License. Applicant must meet the requirements for the National Registry and successfully pass the examination.
