Job Description:
Albany Medical Center seeks a dedicated Clinical Nurse II
specialized in General Surgery/Trauma to join our B3 surgical unit.
This role requires a compassionate and technically skilled
professional to handle a busy surgical and trauma patient load,
demonstrating excellence in practice and a commitment to
patient-centered care in a high-acuity unit. Working within an
innovative healthcare system, the successful candidate will be
privileged to engage in top-tier medical education, patient care,
and biomedical research, enriching their professional experience.
Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on
the application of scientific nursing principles. Assess, plan,
implement and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the
interdisciplinary team. Monitor, record, and communicate patient
condition as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and observe
reactions or side effects. Maintain a safe, comfortable and
therapeutic environment for patients and their families in
accordance with hospital standards. Educate patients and their
families on illness and injury prevention, disease processes, and
treatment plans. Advanced skills in patient assessment and critical
thinking Proficient in managing multiple patients in a high-stress,
fast-paced environment Exemplary communication and interpersonal
skills to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team
Skilled in using healthcare software and electronic health records

401k Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Basic
Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life
Support (ACLS) preferred
