Job Description:
Job Description Job Description QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s
Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college/university,
preferred. Valid New Jersey School Nurse Certification or
eligibility required. Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN)
license. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required. Minimum of 3
years of nursing experience in pediatric, school, or community
health settings preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal
skills. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families,
and outside agencies. Knowledge of child growth and development,
public health, and school health law. Required criminal history
background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident
alien status. REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Chief School
Administrator JOB GOAL: To provide comprehensive health services to
students and staff, promote a healthy and safe school environment,
and ensure compliance with all state and district health
regulations and procedures. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts
health screenings, including vision, hearing, scoliosis, and
height/weight assessments. Maintains accurate student health
records and immunization documentation. Provides first aid and
emergency care to students and staff. Administers medications and
medical treatments per physician orders and school policy.
Communicates health concerns and updates with parents/guardians,
physicians, and staff as appropriate. Participates in the
development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504
Plans as needed. Provides health education to students and staff as
appropriate. Maintains confidentiality in all health-related
matters. Assists in implementing policies related to student health
and safety. Other duties as assigned by administration. TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Ten (12 month position available) . Salary and work
year to be determined by the Board of Trustees and based on the
School Nurse Salary Guide Type of Job (PreK-12 or Higher Ed.)
