Job Description Job Description The Children’s Nursing
Supervisor is an integral part of the Anderson Center for Autism
medical team providing nursing supervision for the residential
nurses, clinic nurse, and medical drivers. The supervisor will
provide medical over-site, care and treatment for the individuals
in both settings. Additionally, the Nurse Supervisor is a resource
provider to staff regarding medical/health issues of the population
served. The Nurse Supervisor will provide technical support to the
nurses they supervise. At times, the supervisor will support the
Health Services Administrators with various responsibilities, such
as, attending meetings, conferences, providing educational
in-services, and critiquing medical data. The Nurse Supervisor is
responsible for the management and tracking of all documentation
needed for the Medication Certification process (AMAP) in the
Children’s Program. Assist with the administration and supervision
of Health Services as needed. QUALITY OF LIFE EXPECTATION FOR ALL
STAFF: To actively further the agency's mission to optimize quality
of life (QofL) for individuals served by monitoring and
implementing systems that promote the QofL of the individuals in
our care. Pay Range: $93,116.80 - $104,240.00 Annual Salary; Based
on experience and certification. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides
professional assessment of illness/injury providing appropriate
follow-up to closure. Attends various committees/meetings (as
delegated by administrator) pertaining to individuals health issues
when those issues are identified and addressed. Example of such
committees may include, but are not limited to, RM meetings, ISP,
Team Meetings, HRC, BTR, medical visits, admission intake
interviews, and representation on the Wellness committee. Maintains
up-to-date communication of individuals’ health status to the
primary nurse, pertinent staff and when necessary family members.
Maintains strict adherence to all Infection Control protocols as
they relate to individuals’ injury, and illness in accordance with
CDC standards. Provide a safe infection control environment in the
clinic. Maintain a current compliant Medication Certification
Process. Responsible for correspondence, record keeping and
providing documentation to primary nurses, AMAP staff and their
supervisors. Administers medications if needed and provides annual
recertification to AMAP staff and when requested to support of the
residential nurse with recertification. Provide Phlebotomy Services
as needed. Provides over-site to the annual TB process for
maintaining OPWDD compliance. Review annual OPWDD AMAP In-Service
for Children’s Services. Provide any input for BBP training and any
other medical in-services on an as needed basis. (CPR training to
support staff development). Responsible for nursing support listed
on the Clinic Nurse Task List. REQUIREMENTS: Must have a current
NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Experience with the Autistic/Developmentally Disabled population
