Job Description:
Join the proactive team at Interstate Waste Services, a leader
in non-hazardous waste management in the U.S. Northeast. As an
Overnight Waste Collection CDL Driver, you will play a critical
role in maintaining community cleanliness and environmental
integrity by facilitating the efficient collection and
transportation of waste and recyclables. This position requires
working during the overnight shifts to minimize traffic and
maximize efficiency in waste collection. Your commitment to safety
and sustainability will make a direct impact on our company and the
communities we serve. Operate waste collection vehicles such as
front, rear, and side loaders with adherence to all safety
regulations. Navigate through assigned routes to collect waste and
recyclable materials from curbsides and commercial establishments.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure
operational safety and efficiency. Coordinate with dispatch and
other team members to report any issues or delays and adjust routes
when necessary. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal
regulations regarding waste transportation and disposal. Assist in
the cleaning, maintenance, and securing of equipment at the end of
each shift. Record and maintain accurate documentation of collected
materials and hours worked. Valid Commercial Driver’s License
(CDL), ability to operate heavy equipment, strong geographic
knowledge of the service area, excellent time management, ability
to work overnight shifts, strong physical endurance and dexterity.
