RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is looking for a Infrastructure Systems Architect for a permanent opportunity in Fairfield, CT. Summary: This role monitors, administers, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades servers. The candidate plans and executes deployment of enterprise systems whether new or upgraded. Under the guidance of the Infrastructure Director, this role acts as Team Lead for planning, budgeting, project management, and change management with the Enterprise Platform Group. They will interface with other ITS Teams, and train and provide technical advice to other ITS staff members as needed. Essential Funcations: * Administer several enterprise systems* Delegating access control to power users* Creating and enforcing user polices* Managing upgrades and updates* Monitoring system health and usage* Identifying opportunities for process and policy improvement to increase performance and functionality* Documenting relevant work tasks for distribution to team members* Addressing break/fix issues and prioritizing response during drills or real time events* Determining specifications and ordering new hardware and software* Making recommendations on enterprise architecture and design* Work directly with faculty and staff on enterprise projects; Projects may include Web Hosting Initiatives, Co-Location of Services, and support of new systems* Work with Internal ITS staff on Server Administration* Work with AWS and other Cloud partners on Internal and Customer Facing Deployments (Including _ EC2, S3, , etc.) * Participate in the growth and development of the department; Attending departmental staff meetings as requested* Communicating effectively with supervisor concerning pertinent departmental and university matters* Promoting an image of efficiency and courtesy throughout the university community and consistent with the department's missionJob Requirements:REQUIREMENTS:* High School diploma/GED or equivalent required; BA/BS or equivalent related experience desired* Certification in RHEL 7.x/8.x, Microsoft MCSA or higher; AWS Cloud certifications are desired* 8 years of technical field experience with at least 2 years of functional supervisory experience within a server team/data center environment* Ability to plan major enterprise system implementations and system upgrades* Ability to evaluate commercial and open source solutions* Ability to research and support new hardware and software as needed* Must have a strong background with directory services, data backup strategies, Cloud computing implementations, and Business Continuity Planning* Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and have a customer-service orientation toward internal staff and campus users* Must have a working knowledge of the items below with proven expertise in key functional areas* Must demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge of server hardware and software* Must possess strong troubleshooting skills* Needs excellent communication skills* Must be a motivated self-starter and possess a demonstrated skill at being a server team leadMust have experience in the following: * Enterprise * Linux * Openshift * AWS/Azure * Apache Server * Google Cloud Platform * VMware* Hyper-V * Active Directory * Data Center SecurityKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
