Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the team at Legrand!GENERAL PURPOSEDesign, development and test of all aspects of electrical components, PCB assemblies, products, and complete system integration. This individual performs engineering work of moderate complexity under general supervision requiring a high degree of technical competence and knowledge. Ability to multitask and work with all departments within Legrand AV and external vendors, suppliers, and contract manufactures.DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESDevelop product requirements and perform electronic hardware design based upon customer specifications and industry regulationsFamiliar with AC and DC circuits and principalsCreate required engineering documentation to support new product development. This includes schematics, specifications, drawings, bills of materials, FMEA, test plans and reports, and other related documentationBuild and test prototypes and integrated systems as part of development processParticipate in design reviewsPerform verification and validation on new and existing designs.Understanding of various regulatory requirements (FCC, UL, CE, etc)Understand Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly conceptsAssist in component evaluation, documentation, review of component drawings, and obsolescence solutions.Support customer, field and Quality Assurance (QA)JOB REQUIREMENTSEssential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Must have lab bench and system level integration/ debug/ troubleshooting experience. Must have hands-on experience working with various test equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, multimeter, spectrum analyzer, etc).Must have experience in schematic capturing tools (ORCAD, PADS, Altium Designer desirable).A plus would be experience working with customers at various stages of product development starting with initial concept reviews to post launch product support.Understanding of electrical safety requirements and regulations.Excellent technical documentation skills with keen focus to detail.Team player with good communication and organizational skills.Willingness to travel as necessary ( Minimum Education and Experience Required:Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic hardware development and manufacturing with an emphasis on analog and digital design.Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or the equivalent required.Special Job Requirements:Requires frequent availability and communication during non-standard business hours to communicate with global team membersMust be available for extended, varied work hours based on business needPreferred Qualifications:WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboardGeneral office environmentMay require regular ground travel to other company facilitiesLong-distance or air travel as needed Ability to lift up to 65 poundsAbility to stand entire shiftExposed to dust particlesTolerate a non-temperature controlled environmentNote: Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Legrand is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
