Summary of Responsibilities Functions in a role between staff accountants and managers/partners to whom the senior reports. Performance is judged based on the quality of work, application of accounting knowledge, ability to meet time constraints as well as supervisory, marketing, administrative, and client service skills. Performs most work assigned with a minimum of assistance. Displays professional conduct, showing confidence and ease in the presence of staff and clients. Responsible for providing outstanding service to existing and potential clients. This position also includes involvement in the marketing of the services of the firm. Also responsible for maintaining and developing a strong, positive, visible presence in their community. In addition, communicate effectively with team members and those they are reporting to. Responsible for developing and maintaining vital and effective relationships and trust with our clients. Client Services

      • Performs diversified accounting, audit, and tax assignments under the direction of supervisor, manager, or partner
      • Demonstrates competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards
      • Fully researches issues and presents pertinent guidance in support of suggested alternatives
      • Seeks to provide "champion" knowledge of either technology or specialized technical knowledge
      • Displays ability to consolidate returns, do more complex tax returns without supervision
      • Assist others in problems related to systems or software
      • Researches develops and documents complicated taxation issues
      • Understands gift tax return Form 709 and estate tax return Form 706
      • Conducts detailed review on all returns and appropriate review notes for preparers; raises potential tax issues
      • Proficient knowledge of FAS 109, FIN 48, FAS 5, FAS 141R, FAS 123R, APB 2
      • Ability to prepare the following forms: 1120, 1065, 1120S, 1040
      • Begins developing a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations as well as GAAP, other comprehensive areas of accounting, unique or specialized accounting principles and financial statement presentations
      • Become proficient in tax research including in-depth knowledge of the reference sources available via the firm's online libraries
      • Meet time constraints and client deadlines
      • Participates in planning and scheduling client engagements
      • Directs and instructs assistants, where applicable, in work to be performed and working paper review
      • Prepares complex tax returns
      • Suggests client tax planning ideas to supervisor, manager, or partner
      • Prepares routine correspondence to client for approval and signature of a partner
      • Performs the broadest range of accountant tasks so that direct participation of supervisors, managers, or partners is kept to a minimum
      • Prepares other reports, projects, and duties as may be assigned Accounting & Audit
        • Know and understand the reasons behind the Firm's policies and procedures
        • Gains expertise in all software programs, train staff on software programs
        • Obtains a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques
        • Successfully deals with more complex accounting issues (e.g., consolidations, process cost accounting, complicated deferred tax calculations)
        • Demonstrates a thorough and updated knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and principles of internal accounting control
        • Ensures all issues identified in planning and programs have been addressed
        • Demonstrates an understanding of audit skepticism
        • Ability to provide neat, complete and organized work papers
        • Can run larger, more complex engagements, supervising staff- or runs 4-5 smaller engagements simultaneously managing workloads effectively
        • Performs diversified, increasingly more complex accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of a supervisor, manager or partner
        • Demonstrates competency in technical skills, work quality application of professional and firm standards
        • Meets time constraints and client deadlines
        • Participates in planning and scheduling of client engagements

                  • At least three (3) years experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of auditing and accounting tasks and tax knowledge Educational Requirements
                    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or Master's degree in accounting or taxation or the equivalent professional experience Required Certification, Licenses
                      • A Senior Associate should be working toward a public accountant's license or another professional license or certification related to their role in the firm
                      • If licensed, should be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs #CFSJUNE2022
